The Kick-off Meeting of the GreenCamUz project, titled “Green Campus Initiative: Integrating Sustainability into Higher Education in Uzbekistan,” was successfully held on March 26, 2026, bringing together national and international partners committed to advancing sustainability in higher education.

The event was hosted by the Central Asian University of Environmental and Climate Change Studies (Green University) and gathered representatives from partner institutions across Uzbekistan, Poland, Lithuania, and Türkiye. The meeting marked the official launch of a three-year collaborative initiative supported by the Erasmus+ programme.

The program began with an official welcome speech delivered by Professor Bakhtiyor Pulatov, Rector of Green University. In his address, he emphasized the growing role of universities not only as centers of education and research, but also as key drivers of sustainable development, environmental responsibility, and climate action.

Participants were introduced to the Green University campus through a guided tour. The agenda continued with a series of presentations outlining the project’s core work packages, including project management and quality assurance, green campus strategy development, curriculum integration, capacity building, sustainable infrastructure, community engagement, and dissemination.

A major component of the project is the creation of a virtual knowledge-sharing platform. This digital space will connect students, educators, and researchers, enabling them to collaborate, exchange knowledge, and access a wide range of learning resources, including online courses, webinars, and interactive materials. The platform will also feature personalized learning tools to enhance user engagement and educational outcomes.

In addition, the project will strengthen collaboration between universities and local businesses, particularly in the field of green economy and sustainable development.

The organizers expressed their gratitude to all partners, contributors, and participants for their dedication and active involvement, and extended their best wishes for productive collaboration and successful implementation of the project.
